Once you're in the game, of course, your life will be consumed by wrangling transfer budgets, searching for wonderkids and trying to snap up free agents. And, of course, some players will be looking for a real-name fix and a face pack to add an extra layer of realism to the game.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves! The big question right now is this: how exactly does one get into the Football Manager 2023 beta? Keep on reading to find out!

When is the FM 23 beta?

The FM 23 beta release date was Thursday 20th October 2022, so you should be able to get into the beta and start working on your new save files as soon as you're ready to do so!

Looking ahead beyond the Football Manager 2023 beta, the full FM 23 game is set to release on Tuesday 8th November.

How to get into the FM 23 beta

To join in with the FM 23 beta, you need to pre-order a PC or Mac version of Football Manager 2023 from a Sega-approved retailer. Here are a few options:

Important note: the beta is live now on Steam and the Epic Games Store, but it's not yet live on the Microsoft Store. And the beta is not available on PS5, Xbox, Switch or mobile.

Sega's announcement of the beta noted: "The Early Access Beta is a near complete (but not quite final) version of the game, so players may encounter some bugs and issues during play. These can be reported directly to the Sports Interactive team via the ‘Report Bug’ button on the in-game sidebar."

The announcement also notes: "Online play is also enabled, but there will be no access to the Steam Workshop or either the pre-game or in-game editors until the game’s full release on 8th November." There should be plenty to keep you busy, though!
